January Update for Spanish K-4th Grade

What did the Kindergarteners learn this month in Spanish?

The Kindergarteners learned new vocabulary words and phrases for winter and what to wear for the season.  New vocabulary included: Cuando hace frio llevo: (When it is cold I wear:) bufanda, sueter, chaqueta, gorro, y guantes.  The students played memory games and created a book with the new vocabulary words.

La Clase de Primer Grado

This month, the First Graders learned the months of the year, cold-weather activities, and what to wear when it is cold.  New vocabulary learned included: bola de nieve, copos de nieve, chocolate caliente, hombre de nieve, botas, sueter, chaqueta, hace frio, guantes, y bufanda.

 La Clase de Segundo Grado

This month, the Second Graders reviewed vocabulary related to the months of the year and identifying different activities based on the weather.  The students also reviewed and identified the seasons with a popular song “Canta,” that helped them to remember the weather and seasons.  They continued working with numbers and simple conversations, such as, “¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños?” (When is your birthday?)

La Clase de Tercer Grado

This month, the Third Graders reviewed vocabulary related to the weather and seasons.  The students worked on translating a song called “Canta,” which relates to the seasonal theme, and they were very engaged with the activity.  We also continued working on a unit covering the items in a house.  New vocabulary includes: guardaropa, cortinas, alfombra, televisor, sillon, sofa, y cama.

La Clase de Cuarto Grado

This month, the Fourth Grade classes are doing an amazing job with their power point presentations, booklets, and posters related to the unit covering animals that live in the regions of Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain.  The students will also work with Ms. Sachdeva using the voice thread technology, where they will record their voices speaking in Spanish.
